We all know Brain Age, the mind frazzling DS series by smarty-pants Ryuta Kawashima. Well know he reveals he would much rather be working than accepting 11 million US dollars for his best-selling series.
"Not a single yen has gone in my pocket" remarked Kawashima to the AFP in a recent interview.
Because of agreement terms with his employer, Tohoku University, Kawashima was entitles to half of the Brain Age royalties personally. Rather than go out and get loaded with the latest clothes and cars, he decided to use the funds in a $6.5million project on Tohoku Uni's campus.
"My hobby is work" he says. "Everyone in my family is mad at me but I tell them that if they want money, go
out and earn it."
Kawashima is currently working on afour-year project to study brain development in children. He's also working closely
with Toyota to develop a car designed to keep elderly drivers alert.
