The Site...

After several hours pondering the question "What do you put on an 'About Us' page?" we finally came up with an idea. This idea was to write several paragraphs about our aims, dreams and future directions of the site. However, when it actually came round to it we simply couldnt be bothered. Instead, we decided to write a short explanation of our history including how and why Nintendo-Play came into being.



How It Started...

It all began way back in 2005 when Nintendo's WiFi service became available in the UK and Mario Kart DS was released. As the admins of the site (Carlos and RoCkeee) have no friends they found it difficult to get a 4 player race going. After searching around on the Internet for a while it became clear very quickly that a service was needed. This is where the Friendcode project began. A website was quickly built and interest in the site exploded. A better version had to be built and fast. The domain name DS-Play.com was purchased and the rest, as they say, is history..



The Development...

DS-Play.com continued to grow almost as rapidly as it began and after the first year almost 20,000 users had registered. It was around this time that Wii-Play.com was launched. This site catered for the new console; the Wii. Eventually it became clear that having two websites was counteractive and it would be beneficial for all to have both sites integrated into one. This was the birth of Nintendo-Play.com
