Q1: How do
I upload custom avatars or signatures to use in
the forums?
A: You can find all of these items in Nintendo-Play's
Point
Shop. Each item costs a certain number of points;
Once you have bought the item with points, you will
be able to access purchased items from your Profile
Settings. If you have VIP status, then all items
will be available in the point shop free of charge.
Q2: How do
I get points?
A: You can earn points to use in the Point Shop
by gaining respect. Any member can give (or take)
respect from somebody once. Your points are calculated
daily based on your respect -- The more respect
points you have, the more points you gain each day.
Q3: How do
I access somebody's profile?
A: You can access another user's profile by clicking
on their username (in the forums), or by clicking
the profile button  (in
the chatrooms).
Q4:
How do I give another user respect points?
A: You can give each user positive or negative respect
by going to their profile, and clicking either the
thumbs up 
or thumbs down 
button. Remember that you can only give a respect
point to somebody ONCE, and you cannot go back to
change it later.
Q5:
What are Private Messages (PMs)?
A: You can send and receive PMs to and from any
user on the forums. Unlike forum messages, which
are visible to anyone, PMs allow you to send messages
privately without others seeing. PMs are useful
for sending friend codes or other messages to users,
but please do not give out personal information
in PMs unless you are sure you know the person.
Q6: How do
I send/read PMs?
A: You can send a PM to somebody by accessing their
profile, and clicking the PM button 
at the bottom of the page. To read PMs sent to you,
click the "Private Messages" button above the navigation
bar on the top, and click any message title to read
the full message.
Q7:
What is VIP, and how do I get it?
A: VIP is a special status given to users who donate
to the site. Upgrading information, costs, and benefits
can be found here.
Q8: What is
Gold Status, and how do I get it?
A: Gold Status is a special status given to users
who support the site by signing up with the Diino
file-hosting service, free of charge. Upgrading
information and benefits can be found here.
Q9: What are
the chat rooms?
A: Nintendo-Play's chat rooms allow you to chat
with other user's of Nintendo Play in real-time.
The chat rooms are also a place to organize Wi-Fi
matches, exchange game tips and information, or
to simply talk with fellow members.
Q10: How do I access the
chat rooms?
A: Click the blue Chat link in the navigation bar
at the top of the page. To view all of the available
rooms, click "View Chat Listings". To simply go
the main lobby room, click "Nintendo ChatRooms Lobby".
Q11: How
do I access a different room?
A: Once in chat, click the purple Rooms tab 
(above the list of users). Then, scroll through
the list and click the Go To Room button  .
Q12: What
are whispers?
A: Whispers are similar to PMs, only they appear
live in chat instead of being sent to your private
inbox. No other user can read whispers you
send.
Q13:
How do I read whispers?
A: When you have a new whisper message, the purple
Whispers tab 
will be flashing. Click this button and you
can read any messages sent to you.
Q14: How do I send whispers
to another user?
A: First, find the user you wish to whisper in the
user list, and click the whisper button 
underneath their name. Then, make sure the
name of the user you are whispering is selected
(Next to "Send Msg to:"). Any messages you
send will now be directed to the user's whisper
box, rather than the main chat. To stop sending
whispers and chat normally again, simple select
"All in room" again.
