I've seen a lot of people wondering how you get points on Nintendo Play. Hopefully this will help you to understand how.
Unlike a lot of other sites, you don't get user points from posting in the forums. Here on NP, your user points are determined by your Respect rating.
Well, how do I give/receive respect?
- To earn respect, simply be kind and helpful to other users. If you act respectfully towards others, they're probably going to respect you for being kind and helpful to them.
- Another way to earn respect is to sign up for a Gold membership. Signing up gives you 3 respect points.
- To give other members respect, go into their profile, and click the '+ Respect' or '-Respect' button. But be careful of which button you press. You can only respect a member once, so do it wisely!!
How does my respect effect my amount of user points?
Well, it's really quite simple. Your amount of user points changes daily, depending on your respect. It increases as follows:
1-5 respect = 1 user point per 24 hours.
6-10 respect = 2 user points per 24 hours.
11-15 respect = 3 user points per 24 hours.
16-20 respect = 4 user points per 24 hours.
21-25 respect = 5 user points per 24 hours.
26-30 respect = 6 user points per 24 hours.
31-35 respect = 7 user points per 24 hours.
36-40 respect = 8 user points per 24 hours.
41-45 respect = 9 user points per 24 hours.
46+ respect = 10 user points per 24 hours.
Note: Try not to get negative respect. With negative respect, your user points will decrease in the same way as above.
Are there any other ways to get points?
The answer to that question is "yes". For every 10 posts you make in the forums, you will receive 1 user point. It seems like it might take a while to build up a high amount of points like that, but every little bit helps.
What do I do with my points?
Points are a type of currency here on NP. You can use your points to buy items in the NP Point Shop. You can also bet your user points while using the Versus Hubs.

This a GREAT thread. I my opinion this thread should be stickied.
Tons of the new members are always asking and to get points, and it creates spam. That kinda bugs me because spam was the reason ds-play was shut down.

ToAd I see a flaw in your chart.It seems you haven't kept track for people with higher respect.I noted something very weird just this week. I noticed when I reached my 1000th points the next day they increased by 20(I have 70 respect currently and I'm looking for more XD) Anyways the day after my points increased by 20 they increased by 10.. weird actually.Well, I think the chart/list is true but I just wanted to share that my points increased by 20 instead of 10.
Also you should add in your post that people get points for refering members. It could make new members refer people here and earn points.I don't quite remember how many points you get increased by( I think 100 or something) but it should be added into your previous post.
