Revised February 8, 2008 (Rule 6 amended)

If you see any people breaking these rules, remember to click the "thumbs down" for their thread or report them to a moderator!

a.) Forum Rules
  1. Speak English to the best of your ability.
  2. Do not curse or swear.
  3. Do not insult or flame another member.
  4. Threads that contain spoilers must be marked as such with "Spoilers:" in the topic.
  5. Do not advertise another website. You may advertise your clans in the proper section.  You are not allowed to post a clan unless you have 15 prior posts on the website, or are a VIP member. This is to prevent people from signing up just to advertise. For more rules about clans, click here.
  6. Do not discuss illegal or malicious activities. This includes giving links to ROMs, asking for links to ROMs, or how to perform malicious activities in games such as "seeding" in Animal Crossing: Wild World.  Topics with a subject based on Flash Carts can be created, but they must NOT lead to the discussion of illegal activities.  Violation of this rule will result in a ban.
  7. Any pornography or indecent material is prohibited. Posting such content will result in a ban.
  8. No duplicating topics. Use the search function before creating a new thread.
  9. No creating "Official NP" threads without first consulting a moderator. Any such threads that are labeled as "official" without being approved first will be removed.
  10. No bumping threads. Bumping is when you post a message just to "bump" your thread up to the top of a forum.
  11. No double posting unless you have a really long message and can't fit it in one post.
  12. If your post doesn't contribute to the topic, don't post it. One line posts such as "LOL", "OK", etc. will be deleted without question. This is considered spamming, and excess spam will result in a ban.
  13. Pointless threads will be locked and/or deleted. Pointless threads are threads that are made just to increase point counts, with no general topic or aim. This also includes making threads asking for things like respect or guest book comments.
  14. Do not make topics or posts solely for the purpose of posting your friend-code, asking for trades in Pokemon, asking for Wi-Fi matches, etc.  Use the chat rooms for this kind of activity.
[Rules are continued on the below post.]

Nintendo-Play.com Rules (Continued)

b.) Chat Rules

  1. Speak English to the best of your ability. Forms of chat speak are not allowed in any rooms other than VIP rooms that aren't designated to games.
  2. No flooding the chat room. Flooding is defined as sending messages very fast to disrupt the chat. Any flooding will result in a mute.
  3. No abusing glitches, this includes bypassing swear filters. Anyone found abusing a glitch will receive a mute.
  4. No spamming emoticons.
  5. No insulting, flaming, or harassing another member
  6. No advertising what-so-ever. This includes telling people to go to sites and join them. This rule does not apply to people advertising in their own VIP room.
  7. Do not discuss illegal or malicious activities. This includes giving links to ROMs, asking for links to ROMs, or how to perform malicious activities in games such as "seeding" in Animal Crossing: Wild World.
  8. You are responsible for your VIP room. If you password protect it, then moderators aren't responsible for that room.
  9. Do not ask for things multiple times. This includes asking for in-game things or someone to play a game with. People will respond the first time, there is no need to ask multiple times.
  10. Caps Lock is to be turned off in the chat.
  11. The lobby is for misc. chat. Wi-Fi games, discussion of them, and friend code exchanging should be done in their respective rooms. If you do not move when a moderator asks you to, you will be moved by the moderator or [in some cases] muted.
  12. To VIP and Gold Members -- talking in white or other bright colors is not allowed.  Use a readable color.
