I'm sure many of you have heard of this updated version of the Nintendo Wii, whether it was a rumor or official news. You may have also heard of a suggested release date for sometime last year. However, at a recent stock holder meeting on June 27th, Nintendo made it known that their DVD-Ready Wii is being put on hold for the time being. "With supply constraints [of the Wii] continuing worldwide, the priority is on the current model." -Nintendo President Satoru Iwata
I must say, I'm not too upset about this one. I've already got quite a few DVD players stationed throughout my house, one of which is located directly above my Wii.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith hit UK stores on June 26, 2008 and will be hitting US shelves tomorrow, June 29. I've been paying a lot of attention to this game, mainly because I wanted to see if there were any good tracks by other artists in this game. Just recently I stumbled across the full list of venues and tracks. They are as follows (and yes, I know I'm a little late): Tier 1: "Getting the Band Together" (Nipmuc High School) 1. "All the Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople (cover) 2. "Draw the Line" by Aerosmith 3. "Dream Police" by Cheap Trick 4. "Make It" by Aerosmith (re-recorded) 5. "Uncle Salty" by Aerosmith Tier 2: "First Taste of Success" (Max's Kansas City) 6. "All Day and All of the Night" by The Kinks (cover) 7. "I Hate Myself for Loving You" by Joan Jett 8. "Movin' Out" by Aerosmith (re-recorded) 9. "No Surprize" by Aerosmith 10. "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith Tier 3: "The Triumphant Return" (The Orpheum) 11. "Complete Control" by The Clash 12. "Livin' on the Edge" by Aerosmith 13. "Love in an Elevator" by Aerosmith 14. "Personality Crisis" by New York Dolls (cover) 15. "Rag Doll" by Aerosmith Tier 4: "International Superstars" (Moscow) 16. "Bright Light Fright" by Aerosmith 17. "King of Rock" by Run-D.M.C. 18. "Nobody's Fault" by Aerosmith 19. "She Sells Sanctuary" by The Cult 20. "Walk This Way" by Run-D.M.C. featuring Aerosmith Tier 5: "The Great American Band" (Half Time Show) 21. "Always on the Run" by Lenny Kravitz 22. "Back in the Saddle" by Aerosmith 23. "Beyond Beautiful" by Aerosmith 24. "Dream On" by Aerosmith (re-recorded) 25. "Hard to Handle" by The Black Crowes (cover) Tier 6: "Rock N Roll Legends" (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) 26. "Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nugent 27. "Mama Kin" by Aerosmith (re-recorded) 28. "Sex Type Thing" by Stone Temple Pilots 29. "Toys In The Attic" by Aerosmith 30. "Train Kept A Rollin" by Aerosmith 31. "Guitar Battle vs Joe Perry" by Joe Perry Bonus Songs (The Vault) 32. "Combination" by Aerosmith 33. "Kings and Queens" by Aerosmith 34. "Let The Music Do The Talking" by Aerosmith 35. "Mercy" by Joe Perry 36. "Pandora's Box" by Aerosmith 37. "Pink" by Aerosmith 38. "Rats In The Cellar" by Aerosmith 39. "Shakin' My Cage" by Joe Perry 40. "Talk Talkin" by Joe Perry 41. "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith Will I be getting this game? Of course not! While I do like Aerosmith's music, I want more variety (though I must say, the guitar looks pretty sweet). I'll be spending my money on the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero: World Tour (IV) in October.
27/05/2008 01:45:27
Activision revealed earlier this week that Guitar Hero World Tour (IV) is going to be sold in "packs". The first one, the Band Kit, includes the game, a drum set, a microphone, and a guitar, and will cost $189.99USD. The Guitar Kit, which includes just the game and a guitar controller, will cost you $99.99USD. The game itself will cost $59.99USD. At this point, there is no confirmation as to whether or not previous controllers will work with Guitar Hero IV.
Keep in mind that these are the PS3 and Xbox 360 prices. The Wii version will probably be a bit cheaper, but only by about $10USD.
As for the shipment date, Activision says October 27th, 2008.

Attention North American Wii owners. Its time to prepare for WiiWare set to hit our coast on May 12th, Appx. two months after the Japanese launch. The service is to provide brand new software via download purchase. Each randomly priced depending on the content provided. With all the titles currently scheduled for the service, and others still in early secretive development stages. There is quite a bit to look forward to just for WiiWare alone. The possibilities certainly have me hyped. But the wait is almost over with May 12 a little over a week away.According to the last sources I seen there was ten WiiWare titles set for release on the service launch. The following is a list of all the games planned taken from IGN.com. - Defend Your Castle
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
- Gyrostarr
- LostWinds
- Major League Eating: The Game
- Pokemon Farm
- Protöthea
- Star Soldier R
- Toki Tori Adventure
- World of Goo
For more information about that list and the release date revision, you should view the source material http://wii.ign.com/index/release.htmlYou should also check out the WiiWare video currently featured on the new Nintendo Channel.

The My Nintendo Channel (Nintendo Channel) uses your saved game data and evaluates a sorta preference list of upcoming software, etc that it presents to you upon start. You are free to browse various videos presenting new software, and even basic tutorials. There is also a comprehensive list of all games scheduled for release on all Nintendo platforms. So now you'll be up to date on all the new releases, with information provided for each title. The main highlight to this channel however, is the bonus of the DS Download feature. Which Nintendo reps' have mentioned on various occasions. This service has finally been released and currently allows you to play game demo's of eight different DS titles, such as Brain Age2, and Flash Focus to name a few. Its so great to finally have such a nifty bonus feature right in the privacy of your own home. Now there is no need to carry your DS to the store to demo games through the Download Stations. I can't wait to see what other titles are featured through this service. Not to mention the various other features this could allow for. Like event Pokemon d/l or possibly future Animal Crossing connectivity and gifts for wifi play, like with Wild World. Anyway, as it stands this is among the finest casual entertainment channel presented on the Wii console. Simply for the DS demo's alone. Then when you add in all the other content and possible future installments. Thats enough to get most all owners of Nintendo consoles excited.

Mario Kart Wii Update New courses, online details and Mii support
Brawl has been released at last, well, at least in Japan, and it look like Nintendo are concentrating on the next big thing; Mario Kart Wii
Nintendo have revealed a total of 32 courses, 16 remakes, and 16 completely new ones. Some of the new courses include; Mario Circuit, Momo Country, Kinopio Factory, DK Snowboard Cross, Coconuts Mail, Kinoko Canyon, and Luigi Circuit.
A few of these will put to use a new feature that Nintendo have cooked up for the rusty ageing karts: mid-air tracks! If you get a trick perfect in the air, your kart will perform a dash on landing.
Onto the multiplayer, MKW will have a lot of online options. First off, the game supports Wi-Fi based play from up to 12 players, and you'll be able to select to play worldwide, national or friends list-al. Whatever that means.
Secondly, not everything has been confirmed (as of yet) but you'll be able to install a Mario Kart Channel to your hub to view world rankings and leaderboards plus your own records.
Along with the multiplayer, Nintendo have a means of customizing the game; Mii style. You can make your very own Mii ride a bike or kart.
And the obviouses, online downloadable ghost and 4-player split screen.
This has just hit Japan, so expect everyone to be raving about this in a few weeks time.

I haven't been checking the Dojo site as frequently as I used to. But when I went on yesterday I was greeted with a new homepage and an announcement from Sakurai.
31st January, 2008. Super Smash Bros. Brawl has officially gone on sale in Japan. Is everybody having fun with it? However, Smash won't come out in North America for a bit, and sadly, Europe has an even longer wait until the game is released. For the past eight months or so, the Smash Bros. Dojo has served as a source of basic information for the game, but with the release of Brawl, the Dojo will take on a new role. From here on out, the Dojo will begin to introduce the hidden characters, hidden stages, and additional features in Brawl that have gone unmentioned until now. I'd like to continue to add on to the Dojo so that players of Brawl can come back to this website following its completion and view Smash Dojo as a sort of guide for the game. I plan on continuing to update for another two months, so please continue to enjoy the site. Just remember, I'll be posting information on hidden characters and other in-game secrets, so you should take caution when viewing the site if you want to save those surprises for later. So this probaly means the link below is the final character rota at the start of the game. But as if that isn't enough, Sakurai promises to keep the site going for another 2 months (near the US launch). With Sakurai being a man of his word just one day after a secret character was put onto the site. (Found on the link below) ^^Spoilers^^ --Darkstar--

The third installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, has been delayed, once again. The new release date for those of us in North America: March 9, 2008.
The release date was also pushed back in Japan, despite news from the Whobby festival that stated the game's release date was fixed. The release date for Japan is now January 31, 2008. So, why is the release date only 1 week later for Japan? That's all up for speculation. This is what Masahiro Sakurai had to say about the new release date:
"Due to delays in the completion of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, we've had to change the release date of the game to Sunday, March 9th. I deeply apologize to the people who have looked forward to playing the game for so long and ask that you hold on just a little longer. Thank you for your patience."
