Playing the game, people across the USA have found a possible hint from Retro Studios

First of all, I have a very important question for you. What the hell are you doing reading this while you could be playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the perfection of all that is Wii? Still with me? Right...I guess you're too lame to be playing Corruption.

Anyway, for those who have had the luck of acquiring a copy of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, I'd like to advise that they check this out for themselves.

Now, to the rumour.



As you can see from the above image, it seems Retro has taken to teasing us about the possibility of a Metroid two-dimensional adventure on the Nintendo DS. Yes, Metroid Dread, which would be the 5th installment on the long-running series (Metroid Prime 1, 2, and 3 are separate, says Nintendo), is apparently nearing completion so that should have it on Nintendo's announcements soon.

Yes, there is the possibility that this was an accidental tease from Retro and it was just meant to tell us about Metroid experiments, but it is not mentioned anywhere else on the game.

Still, take this with a grain of salt. Samus hopefuls should not totally discard the idea of a new 2D Metroid, though, seeing as how Nintendo released Fusion on the Game Boy Advanced. Here's to Metroid Dread *gulp*.

in my opinion they should be working on another FPS for the DS, MPH2 or something like tht, another 2d one but on the DS!?!? thts just stupid..

mph was a horrible metroid. 2D metroid is where the fun's at

It is just a matter of opinion. I have played Fusion and MPH and I would choose MPH any day. If you say that I fail, I could say the same thing. I could say, "you guys are just n00bs and 3D metroid games so you say we fail when in real life you know you suck".

mph had horrilbe cnotrols. now making an mph2 instead of a sd metroid is stupid.

I think there needs 2 be a 3D Metroid FPS, like MPH. MPH is one of teh best DS games ever, and so far it's the only one I've played in the Metroid Prime series. But the 2D Metroid games aren't bad, it's just that I prefer the Metroid Prime games more.

2D Metroid > 3D Metroid.

Enough said. For those blasphemers who still believe that the Prime games (Of which Corruption is the last, by the way) are better than the beautiful 2D games, I'd like to direct you to Super Metroid. And Metroid: Zero Mission. And Metroid: Fusion. And... You get the idea.

I much prefer the 2D Metroid games, they are easily the most fun. MPH and MP etc were just something that Metroid wasn't and turned into something completely different and totally boring...

The 3D expirience makes it more real y'know? Like you're actually in the friken game, unlike the 2D; you just see what is next and behind ya. Although, I do have to say that Metroid Fusion is my favorite of 'em all, because it has the Fusion suit, but still, they show it on MP1; hey every Metroid game is cool, in 3D or 2D!

true but the metroid series is good over all the 2d and 3d games couldnt live! without eachother
